This adorable piece of authentic Russian artistry was created by the talented Nazarova Margarita of Fedoskino.
Here we can see a man on the shore who has just arrived on a boat that is nearby. Often there are flood meadows near a river or some pond, where a large amount of moisture provides rich vegetation. The size of the stack is amazing. Should be enough for a snowy winter! But you need to move the hay to your dry barn!
The palette of the scene is based on the combination of contrast of blue skies, greenery of grass and trees and yellow and brown tones of a haystack.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines wrap around the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and 16 (2016).
