This work is called “Morning”, and depicts the allegorical depiction of Morning. Here the author compares Morning with the beautiful young woman surrounded with flowers and butterflies.
The box's exterior is covered with silver powder mixed with blue oils. Two thin gold lines create a frame for the portrait.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The interior is traditionally red. Chirkova has signed, titled, and dated (2007) her work on the box's exterior bottom.
