Description:

This original composition featuring a view of village of Kideksha was painted by Vladimir Kiseleov from the village of Kholui. His works are very easy recognizible!
It shows a picturesque view of the village of Kideksha situated in the Vladimir Region, approximately 5 kilometers to the east of the town of Suzdal. The main place of interest of this village is the Church of Boris and Gleb built in 1152 that is depicted here.
The artist chose to dominate the composition with main colors. Bright gold paint abundantly details the architecture and the surrounding landscape.
This lacquer box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box is not hinged. The piece comes to rest upon four round feet.
An inscription can be found written upon the lid's interior. It announces this piece as an author's original work, the title of the scene, the village name of Kholui and the year of 2006 of which the piece was painted. The artist also wrote his name, the title "Kideksha", the village name of Kholui at the bottom of the composition.
