This splendid set of nesting dolls is the production of Sergiev Posad branch of Russian Applied Art. It includes five wooden dolls. Each of them portrays a pink-cheeked girl. The girl's faces are painted expressively; their blue wide-opened eyes look straightly at viewer. Undoubtedly, the artist has put his heart and soul into painting these eyes, as they seem to radiate kindness and love. Each girl (except the smallest one) holds a separate animal in her hands: the biggest doll holds a dog, the next one holds a cat, the dolls of a smaller size hold a cockerel and a frog. Painting bright multi-colored plants, flowers, bugs and butterflies just on the girl's costumes, the artist has been to achieve an interesting visual effect. It seems that the girls are standing in the garden surrounded by flavored flowers. The work is signed by the artist initials
