Description:

This attractive set of nesting dolls is an original author work of Nadezhda Romenskaya. The set includes five brightly colored, wooden dolls. Each of five dolls has the same neatly painted face and wears a beautiful Pavloposadsky shawl.
The theme of this work is Russian folk fairy-tale “Geese and Swans”. On the place where sarafan is usually painted the artist depicts some recognizable scenes from the tale. The first and the biggest nesting doll shows the happy end of the tale. The girl managed to save her little brother Ivanushka from Baba-Yaga and to return home to her parents. On the second doll the artist depicts Geese and Swans kidnapping Ivanushka by Baba-Yaga's order. The third doll features sister Alyonushka and brother Ivanushka escaping from Geese and Swans. The fourth doll depicts Baba-Yaga's wooden hut on chicken legs. The fifth and the smallest doll shows the magic apple tree who saved the children from Geese and Swans. The biggest doll is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2010, and Russia.
