Description:

This charming small box was painted by Tatyana Tipyakova. The composition depicts a hunter who enters the forest. His two dogs rush ahead anticipating with pleasure a good chase. It's the early morning and the tiny windows of faraway village houses are still alight. The rising sun throws its golden-pink rays on the vapoury meadow and the trees, making their leaves shine with gold. Everything here creates the atmosphere of silence and serenity in nature.
The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic, which enhances the quality of the landscape in the way it was rendered. Gray-greenish tones predominate here. Gold paint is used to highlight the sun and the foliage. Gold dust seems to have been sprinkled in certain parts of the composition to add an almost unnoticeable sparkle to the piece. The composition is executed scrupulously, with all the details of the landscape faithfully reproduced.
The composition is framed with the light-green band outlined with two gold lines and decorated with stylized golden foliage. The similar light-green band outlined with a gold line and decorated with stylized golden foliage wraps around the sides of the box. Free designs of sprinkled aluminum dust also decorate beautifully the sides of the box.
The elegantly shaped box is made of papier-mache. Dark green oil paint covers the exterior of the box while dark red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on a corrugated rim. The box is signed with the artist's name, village and year (2001).
