Description:

This splendid seascape has been painted by Dunaev from the village of Fedoskino. The famous canvas-on-oil painting called "Sunny Day" painted in 1884 by Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky (1817-1900) inspired the artist to create this work. This masterpiece is exhibited in the Feodosia Picture Gallery situated in Ukraine.
Thanks to the artist's talent, the sea looks natural and radiant. The detail in the crashing waves is incredible - the color is excellent, and the light from the sun can be seen through the huge wave in the middle of the scene. This visual effect has been achieved by mother-of-pearl inlaid into this wave. Another piece of mother-of-pearl that is smaller in size shines through the sky.
The scene is framed with gold beads.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged at the top, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed and dated (2006) by Dunaev. Fine work!
