This portrait of unknown woman is a creation of the talented Fedoskino artist Galina Davydova. It is painted in the realistic style and bears a resemblance to the paintings, typical for the Russian art of the 18th and 19th centuries. Dressed in elegant white dress covered with infinite number of folds, she looks off to the left. Her complexion is perfectly blended and shaded, giving her a soft porcelain glow. Her hair is so finely detailed that one can see individual curls. Dark brown background accentuates whiteness of her skin and dress. Life-like in many ways, this authentic Russian artistry is sure to enhance any collection. This is what miniature painting is all about.
The portrait is framed with a gold line; two gold parallel lines wrap around the box's sides.
The box is made out of high quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the left and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, and the year of 2006.
