This peaceful landscape painted in light brown tones is a creation of Natalya Gogina. Drawn in the realistic style, it reflects the charming beauty of the Russian countryside.
Gold scan pattern composed of tiny beads hand punched from gold metal sheets, and glued to the box manually decorate the edges of the lid. On the box's sides Gogina paints brown blurry spots against the light brown background creating the illusion that the landscape extends on the sides. The exterior bottom is covered with black lacquer, while the interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2007 and the village of Fedoskino.
