Description:

Dmitry Tipyakov is enchanted with beauty of the black night sky studded with sparkling diamonds of stars. While contemplating the vault of heaven at summer night, he thinks about the faraway worlds scattered in the boundless universe. Such philosophic thoughts inspired him to create a series of works that may be called “The Earth is a Planet of the Universe”, and this work continues this series.
The scene is painted in green tones over silver and gold paints that shine beautifully through the oils. Tipyakov intentionally painted the planets bigger than we can see from the Earth. He did it to accentuate the real size of the planets, and also to express his philosophic idea that the Earth is one of the countless number planets scattered in the space.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the titled (“The Faraway Worlds”) and the year of 2007.
