A village road winds through the snow covered fields towards a small white-stoned church. Wisps of smoke rise from of the chimneys of the cozy peasant huts. The tranquil palette of light blues and whites creates a sense of peacefulness. A piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the middle of the scene to create a sparkle of the sky. Silver paint highlights the road imitating a shimmer of the snow. Very beautiful!
One of the most talented Fedoskino landscape painters, Sergey Parmeonov, is the author of this box. It is constructed from paper-mache. The scene painted on the box's lid is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines wrap around the box's sides. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom.
