This serene winter landscape is a creation of Yuliya Golubyonkova. Here she has masterfully expressed beauty of the Russian countryside. A small twisting river flows among the snow-covered meadow. The trees are rimed, and shine with whiteness of snow. The wooden peasant hut looks so cozy and hospitable.
The scene is framed with a silver line. A simple pattern composed of silver metal punch-outs adorn the lid's corners.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
