Talented Fedoskino Artist Oleg Golovcheonkov created this breathtaking interpretation of a canvas-on-oil painting "Boyarynya" originally painted by Konstantin Makovsky. It shows how Russian lacquer miniature artists are able to bring hand-painted masterpieces into regular people's homes!
The scene is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
