This beautiful box is a creation of Igor Evmenenko from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the children who met the angel in the forest on Christmas Eve. The children peep out of the tree and observe the angel who is going to decorate a small fir tree with bright multicolored balls.
The scene is painted in various shades of blue suitable for depiction of a winter scene, and slightly highlighted with silver paint.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed and dated (2007) by the artist.
