Irina Kosheleva is fond of cats, and likes to depict these graceful animals on her boxes. On the box's lid and on each of its sides the artist has painted charming cats of various breeds and colors. The palette is chosen to give the cats a touch of realism. Silver dust is spread throughout each of the scenes to fill them with a sparkling light. Each scene is framed with a thin gold line.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on two legs. The work is signed with the artist's name.
