This winter peaceful landscape is a creation of the talented Fedoskino artist Dmitriy Tipyakov. It is called "Winter Evening" and shows a panorama view to a small village hidden somewhere within a forest.
In this work the artist has managed to express his admiration for a quiet splendor of Russian nature. We are like stopped for a while on a small road to a little village with a small white-stoned churche and cozy village houses. They are perceptively painted with love and care. A scene like this, real or on an artist's canvas, always has a calming effect on the soul.
The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic, which enhances the quality of the landscape in the way it was rendered. Silver paint highlights foliage of the trees in a forest.
The scene is framed with a gold line, whiles the box's sides are adorned with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top and the box rests flat. The work is signed, titled and dated (2010) by the artist.
