Talented Fedoskino Artist Semyonova is the author of this originally shaped box. Using bright tones of oils the artist has managed to create the romantic portrait of a young woman sitting on the seashore and playing the guitar. The woman is dressed in the clothing that reflects the fashion of the 1930s of the bygone century and it makes the scene more interesting to contemplate.
The box's exterior imitates a stone color (light brown and blue veins are scattered against the black lacquered surface). The box's sides are decorated with a beautiful gold pattern accented with white oils.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2001.
