This festive box has been painted by the talented artist Konstantin Kolmogorov. The work is called “"Queen of the Birds" and shows different kind of Birds and their magic queen.
The scene is painted in bright surrealistic colors. Shining pieces of gold metal leaves that can be found in the plants are used to strengthen the festive and miraculous atmosphere of the painting.
The edges of the lid are adorned with a wide silver ornament that is extended on the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, and the village of Fedoskino on the box's exterior bottom.
