Talented artist Kurilin Stanislav Igorevich is responsible for this original work. In 1988 Stanislav graduated from the Fedoskino Art School. His teacher was Boris Petrovich Gorodilin.
The box shows a gnome book-keeper sit under the earth, making his calculation and write them down.
A small piece of mother-of-pearl shines throught the light of the candle that gnome used.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Brown lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, date and the village of Fedoskino on the exterior's bottom.
