This beautiful winter scene has been painted by Sergey Parmeonov from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the village covered with deep snowdrifts and the river covered with thin ice.
The scene is mostly painted in white and blue tones that fit excellently for reproduction of a winter landscape.
The scene is framed with gold line, two parallel gold lines are decorated the sides of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name.
