Established artist Sergey Kirsanov of Fedoskino is created this splendid winter scene. The scene is painted in the realistic style using white and blue tones of oils. Several pieces of mother-of-pearl of light pink colour are set into the sky to enliven the scene!
Snowy expanses of Russian countryside and the wooden church that rises above a small village are brilliantly painted. Kirsanov paints with a fine brush, achieving almost invisible transitions of colors. Refined oil-painting techniques give this scene depth and life. Various shades of pink help to reproduce atmosphere of a winter evening.
The scene is framed with a gold line, two parallel gold line are decorated the sides of the box.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The remaining edge of the lid as well as the sides of base of the box are decorated using the unique dye-resist method, with a creation of the black stone-like design you see here.
Traditional red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on the four legs.
The box is signed by the artist.
