This splendid composition was painted by a talented Fedoskino artist, Alexander Simonov.
Here we can see forest landscape with a deer with horns at dawn. The image seems to be in a haze, which corresponds to the morning fog.
The scene is painted in different shades of blue and gray oils. There is infinite texture in the landscape. The structure of the trees and grass on the foreground is highly elaborate. A piece of mother-of-pearl in-layed in the skies over the horns.
The painting is framed with a golden line,and the sides of the box are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box is on four legs. The work is signed with the artist name and 2015.
