It features the portrait of the hunter drinking cognac. It is a gorgeous piece of Fedoskino realism. The artist captured he facial expression of the hunter, and painted his costume with a lot of details. The hunter's face appears photo quality from a slight distance. It takes years to perfect the skill that it takes to paint a realistic portrait such as this.
The exterior of the piece is covered with dark crimson paints in some places, while in other places the black lacquer is left. The interior is also covered with dark crimson paints. The portrait is framed with elegant gold and silver bluish patterns. The same patterns decorate the edges of the lid. In the center of the lid there is gold and silver bluish floral design. The same design but a little bigger in size can be found in the middle of box's exterior bottom.
The box is made out of high-quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged. The work is signed by the artist.
The box was produced in Sergey Turin's Workshops.
