This interesting work called "Nightingale's Song" is a creation of Kachalkina from the village of Fedoskino. It is painted in various shades of blue. Some parts of the composition like the girl's apron, the birds and the musical instrument are painted over aluminum powder. Gold paint beautifully details the costumes of the characters.
The scene is framed with an original ornamentation painted in metal gold paints and gray oils.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box is hinged from the left of the composition, and rests on a flat bottom. It is signed and titled by the artist.
