Pavel Govorun from the village of Fedoskino created this magnificent paper-mache set that consists of a box that rests on a tray. It is called "Feast", and features the court jester playing his balalaika, and the tsar listening to him.
The scene is painted over the mother-of-pear, and richly detailed with gold paints.
The exteriors of the box and the tray are decorated with the original patterns composed of silver metallic punch-outs - these are hand punched from the metal sheets and then painstakingly affixed by hand to the box.
The exterior of the box and the tray are covered with soft pink paint. The interior of the box is covered with red lacquer. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition. Both the tray and the box are signed with the artist's name, the year of 2006, the village of Fedoskino and the title ("Feast").
