This peaceful autumn landscape is a creation of the talented Fedoskino artist Tatyana Tipyakova. Because of the extraordinary details and surreal color schemes, Tipyakova has announced herself as one of the best modern Fedoskino landscape painters.
The work reflects the artist's admiration for a quiet splendor of Russian nature. It is brilliantly painted, and has a calming effect on the soul. Mother-of-pearl shines beautifully through the river imitating reflection of the sky on the water. Gold paint details the branch of the tree painted in the foreground. Almost invisible silver dust is spread throughout the scene to animate and decorate it.
The scene is framed with a thin gold line. The edges of the lid are decorated with a nice gold pattern accented with silver paint; the similar gold and silver pattern wraps around the bottom part of the box's body. The black lacquered sides of the box are covered with tiny and very thin green veins.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top and the box rests on legs. The work is signed by the master.
