Oleg Gavrilov likes to depict butterflies in his works; he is inspired with the beauty of these wonderful insects. This is one more work from this series.
Here the artist depicts two butterflies sitting on the grass. Mother-of-pearl shimmers magically through the wings of the butterflies with golden, blue, green, violet and pink tints. The scene is painted against the dark brown background. Dark brown is also used to cover the box's exterior. The box's interior is traditionally red. On the interior bottom the artist has painted his name. The sides of the box are decorated with a gold metal thread.
The box is made out of paper-mache. There is a hinge on the left, and the box rests on a flat bottom.
