Davydova from the village of Fedoskino has created a series of boxes that show butterflies hovering over flowers. This is her one more work from this series.
Both the box's exterior and the box's interior (including the exterior and the interior of the lid, and the exterior and the interior of the box's bottom) show the beautiful butterflies hovering over white fresh lilies of the valley painted against the green background. Gold metal leaf shines brightly through each of the butterflies drawn on this box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Brilliantly done!
