Vetrova from the village of Fedoskino is the author of this beautiful box. It shows the Lady of the Woods accompanied by the wolf and the owl. The scene is painted over silver powder that shines through the oils, and helps to imitate a glimmer of the moonlight. A large piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the Lady's costume. Gold paint is used to paint the leaves on the trees.
The box's exterior imitates coloring of a stone (white blurry spots and veins are scattered against the blue background), while the interior is traditionally red. The edges of the box's interior are outlined with gold. The box's sides are decorated with silver scan patterns. A small pearl bead is glued to one of the box's sides for ease of the box's opening.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the name of the artist.
