Description:

This museum quality box is a wonderful creation of Sergey Kozlov and Alexander Kozlov who are very popular Fedoskino painters. It shows a picturesque view of St.Petersburg painted in light grey and blue tones of oils. A large piece of mother-of-pearl shines brightly through the monument painted in the foreground. Some areas of the architecture and the sky are highlighted with sparkling silver powder. The scene is framed with two parallel lines; one of them is painted in silver paint while another one is painted in gold. The box's sides and the lid are adorned with intricate gold and silver scan patterns. In the middle of each of the box's sides the artists have painted a fish against the gold background for the box's additional decoration. Very attractive!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. On the box's rear side you can find the coat of arms of pre-revolutionary Russia painted in gold. A hinge is fastened from the left of the scene. The box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the names of the artists, Fedoskino and the year of 2006.
