Description:

Sergey Kirsanov from the village of Fedoskino is known as a talented landscape painter. Being enchanted with the beauty of modest Russian nature, he created a series of works painted on this theme. These creations are penetrated the feeling of deep love to his native land. This is one more work from this talented artist.
The scene is painted in the realistic style using white and blue tones of oils. A piece of mother-of-pear is set into the sky to enliven the scene.
The box's exterior is decorated with elegant silver scan patterns composed of tiny shapes hand punched from silver metal sheets and then painstakingly affixed by hand to the box. On the box's sides the artist has painted almost invisible and very thin grey veins.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The Fedoskino "troika" insignia can be found on the interior of the lid. The work is signed with the artist's name.
