This cigarette-case was created by Simonova from the village of Fedoskino. It features the full-length portrait of the little girl standing near the big dog. It is a gorgeous piece of Fedoskino realism. Simonova captures the facial expression of the girl and the dog's lovable nature as a well executed composition full of detail and colorful delight. Both the girl's and the dog's faces appear photo quality from a slight distance. It takes years to perfect the skill that it takes to paint a realistic portrait such as this.
In some places the exterior of the piece is covered with emerald paints, while in another places the black lacquer is left. The "emerald areas" are doted with white veins, and this original ornamentation resembles the coloring of a stone. The interior is traditionally red.
The portrait is framed with elegant gold patterns. The same patterns decorate the edges of the lid, and the box's bottom part. In the center of the lid there is an original gold floral design. The similar design can be found in the middle of the box's exterior bottom.
The cigarette-case is made out of high-quality paper-mache. The lid isn't hinged. The work is signed by the artist.
