Description:

With this piece of entrancing charm, Fedoskino artist Vladislav Maslov, offers his representation of the story of "Morozko." Here, the innocent stepdaughter has been left in the woods by her stepmother in the hopes she will be frozen in the winter forest. Fortunately, Father Frost came along and made her immediate surroundings unusually comfortable. Fascinating detail and an intelligent application of color render this piece a true eye-opener. There is ample excitement within each and every square inch.
The painting extends on the whole surface of the box's exterior except the box's exterior bottom. Various shades of blue oils predominate here. Silver paint is used to paint fragile sparkling snowflakes that fall on the ground. The beautiful garland is spread throughout the composition; it consists of very thin and round-shaped pearl plates decorated with green spangles and united with a thin silver line. Four green spangles glued to the box's exterior bottom also serve as legs for the piece. The box's exterior bottom is covered with black lacquer, and outlined with a thin gold line. The interior is traditionally red. The lid is hinged. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, and the year of 2008.
