Description:

This alluring creation was created by talented Fedoskino artist Yuriy Butsinskiy. The artist is rewarded with many prizes and honorary diplomas and among them we may call the diploma received in the Exhibition of National Economy's Achievements and the honorary diploma of the Russian Museum.
The work is called "Waiting", and shows the Tsaritsa sitting on the throne, and waiting for her husband's return from foreign countries. She imagines his sailing ship leaving the banks of some Eastern country.
The scene is masterfully painted in rather dark tones of oils. One piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the Tsaritsa's dress while another one shines through the mosque drawn in the background. Silver paint is used to highlight the clouds and the sea. Gold paint is used to detail the Tsaritsa's dress. The box's sides are adorned with an elegant pattern drawn in gold and violet paint.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, the year of 2007, and the village of Fedoskino.
