This box is a creation of Ulyana Danchenko whose sumptuous painting style is always easy to recognize. It shows a recognizable scene from Lewis Carroll's classic tale "Alice in Wonderland". Here we can see Alice, the Hat and the Hare having a tea party.
The scene is painted in bright oil paints. Shining gold metal leaf inlay can be found in the frock-coats on the Hat and the Hare. Gold paint sparkles through the Hat's top hat. Silver paint is used to draw the sky, to highlight the grass and to enhance the color of Alice's dress.
The scene is framed with a gold line. The box's exterior is covered with light pink lacquer, and decorated with silver blurry spots and veins. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer. On the box's exterior bottom Danchenko painted playing cards using oil paints, and also wrote her name, the title, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom.
