This marvelous marine scene is a creation of Alexander Kononov. Here he has drawn a quite harbor, and several ships anchored not far from the shore. Various shades of blue oils are used to paint the sea and the sky while orange and yellow tones help to produce a sparkle of the sunset. The scene is quite calm and peaceful.
The marine scenes are painted on the box's lid and around the box's sides. The scene painted on the box's lid is framed with a gold band. The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged. The work is signed with the name of the artist, Fedoskino, and the year of 2008.
