This beautiful landscape has been drawn by Sergey Parmeonov from the village of Fedoskino. Here the artist has managed to reflect beauty of the countryside at night. Though a night hasn't fallen yet, it is very dark and the watermill is scarcely seen. Dark grey and blue tones of oils suitable for reproduction of a night scene predominate here. A thin gold line is used to frame the lid's compositional artistry. Two parallel gold lines, one slightly thinner than the other, encompass the base of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name.
