The well-known Fedoskino artist Alexey Chirkov is the creator of this stunning box. The work is called “Owl's Nest”, and shows an Owl nest on a tree in the forest. Here we can see the mother-owl flying over its nestlings with large wings. This box continues Chirkov's series of works dedicated to owls.
The artist has used an oval-shaped box to extend the enigmatic night(or evening) scene on the entire surface of the box. The sky shimmers dramatically as they has been painted over a thin silver paint. More brilliance and luster come from a piece of mother-of-pearl that shines brightly with glimmering blue tones. Gold paint is used to detail and highlight almost each element of the composition, especially details of the trees. The details of the feathers of the birds are amazing! The Artist is trully a professional!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged to the left of composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
