Description:

The talented Fedoskino artist Yevgeniy Shishkin has painted this beautiful composition. The artist managed to express his admiration aroused while contemplating the rare moments in nature. Shishkin is obviously enchanted with the beauty of Russian countryside!
Here artist has captured a moment when two people just got off a boat. We only can guess where they came from. We can't see the fishing roads, but all of these fishing things might be not far in a tall summer grass.
The sky glows with the fire of the sunset and we can see somewhere on a back that frog is laying down at the river.
The palette is filled with tones that suit to reproduce this change of a day. The sunset and its reflection on the mirror like surface of the river are painted in gold paints while the ground and trees are drawn in greens and grays. The sunset glow is also reflected on some ground areas; and here the artist shows his talent as brilliant colorist, alternating continuously contrast pink and dark blue tones. The effect is stunning! The transition of colors is invisible, and that is why the scene looks realistic. Aluminum powder highlights the sky and the grass, while gold paint also can be found on the trunks of trees!
The style of Shishkin is very recognizable! You can check several of his boxes and you always can tell that this is his work!
Gold line is used to frame the scene, while the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
