This round box is a creation of Galyamina Marie from the village of Fedoskino. It is called "Birds", and shows peasant girls who have found the nest of doves and look at it with admiration. The scene is painted over a large piece of mother-of-pearl, and shines beautifully from within. Blue oils dominate here; blue tone of oil paints has been also chosen to cover the box's exterior. Gold metal paint decorates the girls' costumes. On the box's sides the artist continues to paint flowers, plants and branches of trees. The interior is traditionally red. The box's exterior bottom is framed with tiny gold beads; here you can also find the artist's name, Fedoskino, the title written in gold paints, and also several flying doves drawn in gold.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom.
