Description:

This portrait of a pretty woman ironing her dress is created by Dmitriy Bebikhov from the village of Fedoskino. It is an interpretation of a canvas-on-oil painting "Portrait of a Woman Ironing her Dress" originally painted by Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky (1839-1915) in the 1880s. This masterpiece is exhibited in the Art Museum in Russia.
The outer edge of the lid is painted with a brilliant band of gold paint. The base of the box is decorated with a nice tartan pattern painted in blue, pink and orange oils, and framed with shining gold bands.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2008, and the title.
