The talented Fedoskino portrait painter Galina Dubovikova created this breathtaking interpretation of a canvas-on-oil painting "Little Organ-Grinders Near the Fence in Winter" that was originally painted by Konstantin Makovsky in 1868. This masterpiece is kept in a private collection.
The outer edge of the lid is painted with a fine band of gold paint. The base of the box has two lines done in gold painted parallel to each other, the bottom line slightly thicker than the other.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name.
