Description:

This beautiful portrait of an Italian girl was painted by famous Fedoskino Artist Tatiana Frolova. Painted in the realistic style, it is a stunning example of Fedoskino portraiture. The girl is going to put a mask on, looking somewhere aside. Maybe she is looking at her suitor, who has presented her a bunch of beautiful flowers that she holds in her hand.
Very fine brushstrokes help to bring this portrait to life. The girl's dress and the bouquet are textured with masterful color variations and thin, patient brushstrokes. Her fabulously drawn face glows with a pleasantly subtle smile, demeanor is quite calm. Her features are perfectly shaded and proportionate. Her lips have a natural shine, and her wavy brown hair is carefully defined, strand by strand.
The colors are very direct and carry with them a high degree of realism. The color variations in the bouquet look as if the flowers were transplanted from a field directly onto this box. The expert detail can be seen in the flower arrangement as well as the clothing and her dress, both which flow very naturally off of her body.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The composition is framed with a gold line. The box's sides are decorated with twp parallel gold lines. The box has a hinge to the left of the composition and rests on four legs. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box is signed with the artist's name, village and year (2008).
