This charming small box has been painted by Potekhin Yevgeniy from the village of Fedoskino. It shows mother setting straight the scarf of a boy.The boy is having fun with his friends rushing down the hill on the sledge. This kind of winter amusement is one of the most favorite in Russia.
For this composition Potekhin has chosen different shades of gray color that is the most suitable for depiction of a winter scene.
The composition is framed with a gold line. The box's sides are decorated with an original ornamentation.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and dark red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the name of the artist at the bottom of the composition.
