This attractive box has been painted by Mochalova Masha from the village of Fedoskino. Masha Mochalova is a daughter of talented Fedoskino artists Nikolay Zotov and Moiseeva Elena, who is for this moment the chief Artist of Fedoskino Factory.
The box features the three musicians entertaining people at the Carnival- we can see dozens of Carnival Masks all over the musicians.
The scene is painted in various shades of dark colors pointed to the night time. Gold metal leaf shines through the costumes of the characters. Some other parts of the composition are highlighted with aluminum powder.The painting is coming from the lid of the box to their sides.
Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on wavy legs. The work is signed by the artist.
