This picturesque summer night landscape has been painted by well-known Fedoskino artist Dmitry Bebikhov. The magical beauty of Russian countryside has been beautifully captured in this exquisite work. The work is called "The Moon Night" and shows a fisherman sitting on the bank of a pound and fishing. On the other side of a pound we can see several peasant houses with lit windows... Silence...Only dogs from time to time are barking in the night and sleepless Rooster in a hen house sometimes do a cock-a-doodle-doo...
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the title "The Moon Night" and the village of Fedoskino.
