This interesting dual-sided box is a creation of talented artist Komogorova Svetlana. In this work the artist has painted an allegorical depiction of a Morning and an Evening.Here Morning and Evening are shown as a romantic, young, winged girls among the forest animals.
The composition is painted in bright oils. Gold metal leaf shines through the designs of the girl's costume and also through some of the plants. Golden paint of different shades is used to decorate the box's exterior with lustrous, wide bands running along the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the bottom of the scene, and rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the title of the work ("A Morning and an Evening ").
