Irina Turbeneova is the well-known Fedoskino artist who has managed to create such a beautiful box of the original shape. The subject is based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale "Alice in Wonderland". Here we can see almost all major characters of the Tale and Alice itself.
The artist continues to paint on the box's sides. The palette that she has used is dominated by the pastel, bright tones of oils.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior's bottom of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of all seven compartments of the box. Six of them are like the petals of the daisy flower, have hinges at the top of the scenes. The central lid is not hinged. The box rests on three small rounded legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2011.
