This interesting work has been painted by the famous Fedoskino painter Viktor Tretyakov. Here he depicts a dog hunt, while the hunter is followed the game on a horse.
The scene is painted in the realistic style using various shades of brown and gray oils suitable for this autumn day. The dogs are possibly "borzoy" race.
The composition is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on wavy feet. The work is signed with the artist's name.
