Description:

This composition painted by Fedoskino artist Gaiduk Andrey is a variation from well-known oil-on-canvas called "Everything is in the Past..." painted by well-known Russian artist Vasiliy Maximov in 1889.
Composition shows two old ladies went out for a fresh air. One of them used to be a land lord, but for some reasons has lost her power and money. Her large house we can see on the background of the composition. The windows are board up. And now she lives in a wooden peasant house with the last her devoted servant... Yes, everything is in a the Past... They went out on one of the first warm Spring days, when lilac is blossoming.
The box's sides are decorated with elegant floral ornament.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged at the top, and the box rests on four small round legs. The box is signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, and year of 1999 at the bottom of the scene.
